Designed by Maureen Appleton of The Heart's Content this piece is done over one thread on 28 count linen. It's number one in a series of twelve. I bought this sometime in 1998 or 1999 from Eye of the Needle in Plano, TX. I put in a few stitches, and then stopped working on it. I pulled it out recently, and have managed to get quite a bit done.
Update 12/16/05: I put the last few backstitches in this morning. I didn't like the window backstitching on the model, it was done in a lighter shade, so I did the whole thing in the dark color. I like the way the grass makes the motifs stitched in that area pop out, well, except for the rabbit on the lower right. You can hardly tell what he is supposed to be, but I don't feel like picking out over one and redoing it in a different color, so it stays.
