High Speed, Fact or Fiction?
Keeping my fingers crossed, there's a chance that we may be able to have high speed internet sometime in the next couple of weeks, for real this time. Aircanopy.net has finished installing an antenna (or whatever it's called) on the town water tower. If our house lies in the service area, we're good to go. Unfortunately, so many people want to sign up, we have to wait almost a week for them to come out and check.
If this works out, I'll be able to post to my blog on a more frequent basis again. Currently, I can't really access at work, none of the computers are very private, and it's hard to get enough time to actually sit down to do work, let alone fool around.
Baby Birds
The other week, we were outside barbecueing, and Dave asked me to check out what was with the cheeping noises in the bushes. So we looked, and there were two little baby birds. I reached in and touched one, and it made this god-awful noise, and suddenly I was being divebombed by irate cardinal parents. At least we figured out that the babies weren't abandoned! Dave tried to get some pictures, but you can't see anything except foliage. They've moved on now, I can't wait for the next crop of babies.
Speaking of babies, we've made a deal with the neighbors behind us, they can put a horse in our pasture since we're not currently using it, so long as they fix up the fence and maintain the pasture. I came home today and found that we have our new tenant enjoying her new yard. She's gorgeous! I have to get some photos of her when she stops running around and exploring. Oh, yeah babies. She's about three months with foal, so we'll have a baby horsie on the ground before we know it.
Elmo and the Broccoli
We had a pot-luck dinner for the Fourth, and somebody brought a vegetable tray. We turned around to find Elmo on the table stalking the wily broccoli. He even nibbled on it a little before deciding "that's not food, that's what food eats!"
