I was going to try posting from work on Monday. I had to cover the later shift, which is supposed to get out at 5:30, almost everyone else is gone and I can goof off a little. I thought it would be easier to load photos, since I wouldn’t have to wait for the slow modem connection.

Needless to say, the best laid plans and all that, no chance, I didn’t get a single free moment. We went to Kim’s house for lunch, so no time there, and I didn’t leave work until 6:30. My supervisor complained on Tuesday morning about my hour of overtime, and I’m thinking, “if you think I wasted time, or wanted to stay until 6:30, then you obviously don’t know me very well”. I hate the later shift, I’d much rather be leaving at 4.

I took a photo of one of the pairs of socks I finished while moving. The rest are in the laundry. These are Opal Magic yarn in pink. I like the striping, which is fortunate, since I think I have three or four other colors of Opal Magic in my stash.

While downloading photos from the camera, I discovered a few of the cats we’d taken and forgotten about.

Dial up, I'm suffering with dial up, excruciatingly slow dial up at that. So, I'm going to do my best to try and post once a week, but can't make any promises. Yesterday when I logged on to access my bank, I got booted off three times before I gave up.

The house is slowly coming together. We still need to get Dave a desk so he can set up his computer. For some reason, he doesn't seem to care that his computer is in pieces all over the floor. I'm guessing that since he uses a computer at work all day, the novelty of playing at home just isn't the same. Besides that he's got a Star Wars Playstation game that's keeping him pretty busy.

The craft room has the wallpaper stripped and about 2/3's of the paint sanded off. Dave has promised to work on getting it finished and ready for priming this week. I think I want to paint it a purply blue, but I haven't made the final color choice yet. We keep popping into Home Depot for stuff, and I keep picking up new paint cards.

I put some bird feeders up in the back yard, but hadn't really seen any birds eating out of them. The other day when I came home, there was a red tailed hawk eating a smaller bird in the front yard. I'm really hoping he isn't using the bird feeders as a hunting ground. Boy, would I feel bad.

I finished another pair of socks, stitched another sampler for Habitat for Humanities and completed another 10 hours of my stitching rotation. I'm going to try to get some photos uploaded to my website from work.

I've also read about 15 more books this year, but don't have my book journal with me to add them to my list.

I still don't have real internet access, I have to snatch email time at work when I can get it. The blog is moving to just plain www.wildlycrafty.com, I'm tired of maintaining my boring index page.

The move to the new place went smoothly, the movers didn't break anything. The dog did a little damage to the back door, apparently he didn't like having the freedom of a doggie door and huge backyard. He prefers to spend his days locked in an exercise pen. To each his own I guess.

We're working on the second bedroom to make it into a craft/hobby room with areas for Dave's minatures and my knitting/cross stitch. I want wall to wall bookshelves, and Dave is working out plans for those. So far, we've got the old wallpaper pulled down and are sanding the old textured paint off. Next step is to decide what color we're going to paint and buy some board stock for the shelves.

I've finished a few pairs of socks, and a few more rounds on my cross stitch rotations. I don't have any way of posting pictures, since my work computer has extremely limited functionality. Internet access won't be for another week or so, we waiting to see if the radio internet guys can get us a signal. They are installing more equipment in the area in the very near future, and we decided to wait on that before settling for dial up.
